Nostalgia is a powerful thing, as evidenced by the number of cult TV shows and movies from the early noughties getting reboots this year. Sabrina The Teenage Witch is getting a scary new makeover with The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Life-Size, the moving starring Tyra Banks and Lindsay Lohan, is getting a sequel in time for Christmas, The Hills will return to screens next year (with many of its original cast) and so too will Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Plus, Charlie’s Angels is getting yet another movie. Still with us? Good. Because Veronica Mars has just joined the reboot club, too.
The cult TV show aired from 2004-2007 and starred Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars, a teenage investigator who solved major crimes. It was cancelled in 2007 (much to the dismay of its fans) leaving many to hope that it would someday make a return. A film was released in 2014 and now, Bell herself has confirmed the show is coming back to the silver screen.
Taking to Twitter to announce the good news, the actress shared a video of herself telling fans that all of the episodes from Veronica Mars would be available to stream on Hulu next year. She then added that this was important because “we’re making another one!”
BREAKING NEWS out of Mars Investigations! 🙂 A new #VeronicaMars series is comin atcha via @hulu. Thank you to all the marshmallows for staying excited and to @Hulu for giving Veronica a chance to wear her big girl pants. I hope we’re still friends after I taser you. pic.twitter.com/z2EufrjMpX
