There’s been a growing number luxury fashion houses taking on a commitment to more ethical fashion practices. The current drive towards a more conscious fashion industry has already seen Victoria Beckham ban all exotic skins, Burberry to go plastic-free by 2025, Jean Paul Gaultier considers going fur-free and Coach to eliminate fur in future collections.
The luxury list is constantly growing and overnight, the Prada Group has announced that it will be 100 perfect fur-free starting with its Spring/Summer 2020 collection. The decision will also apply to all of the Italian fashion house’s brands, including Miu Miu, Church’s, Car Shoe and Prada itself.
The Humane Society launched a campaign urging Prada to stop its use of fur and after catching the attention of the Italian fashion house, Prada collaborated with the organisation behind the scenes to help Prada adopt a more ethical approach.
Prada follows in the footsteps of Versace, Gucci, Chanel, Michael Kors, Furla and Bottega Veneta.
