While Paris is in full fashion mode right now with haute couture shows happening all over the city, Karl Lagerfeld, the Creative Director of Chanel, did not attend his show this morning at the Grand Palais.
According to WWD, King Karl’s right hand woman and studio director, Virginie Viard, stepped out in his place during the final exit to acknowledge the crowd. “He was tired this morning,” a Chanel spokesperson explained to WWD. But it has been confirmed that he has just attended the second show, also at the Grand Palais, which happened at noon Paris time (15:00 local time).
The spring couture collection was all about 18th century accents with floral decorations, boat-neck tweed and delicate evening dresses set against an Italian villa setting complete with a landscaped garden and a pool so enticing you’d want to jump in right there and then.
