Increasingly, brands across the world are seeking out more sustainable options for consumers, whether through the use of more eco-friendly materials, the banning of controversial fabrics (à la ASOS and Gucci, most recently) or transparently communicating information on supply chains and factories. Now, Spanish handbag brand M2Malletier has recognised the need and has released a brand new range of vegan-friendly handbags.
Cut in the same recognisable style as its main collection leather handbags, the new vegan options are created from faux leather and velvet with fabrics sourced from Linea Pelle in Milan, an iconic leather fair. As with the main line, the new vegan pieces are inspired by the landscape of Lanzarote island and Alfred Hitchcock’s novel To Catch A Thief.
The bags are finished in a variety of colours including blush, plum, cherry, camel and gold.

In a release, the brand said the new vegan range “is a conscious decision to accommodate the needs of every modern woman’s wardrobe and to join the prevalent conversation on ethical practices and sustainability in luxury fashion.”
The bags will be available from August in Robinsons Dubai, Harvey Nichols — Doha and Riyadh, Al Zham Qatar and on Ounass.com.
