The Weeknd is confirmed for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

He's the first artist of many still yet to be announced...
Even though this year's Abu Dhabi Formula 1 weekend is months away, we finally know who will be headlining the event...

Every year, Abu Dhabi gathers prominent personalities to its grounds for one of the region’s highly anticipated sporting events — the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Set to take place in November, the event brings excitement to our shores, both on and off the track, with some of the world’s most renowned F1 drivers, including Valtteri Bottas, Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton (who’s Tommy Hilfiger’s new brand ambassador and collection collaborator) competing for the number one spot.

However, it’s not only about the races.

The Yasalam music extravaganza is just as important as the races itself, with international superstars closing each racing day with a stand-out performance. Last year, headliners included Calvin Harris, J.Cole, Mumford & Sons and Pink, and the year before that brought the likes of Rihanna and The Chemical Brothers

Whilst the country waits for who’s going to be headlining this year’s event, we finally can reveal the first act (and it’s a big one!).

Fresh from his performance at Coachella 2018The Weeknd has been announced as the first headliner at this year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. You can expect to hear a slew of his famous hits including Often, Starboy, I Feel it Coming and Pray For Me
