Penelope Cruz has been a very busy woman of late, especially during Paris Haute Couture Week. First she was named as the newest ambassador for Chanel and then she revealed a sparkling new collection of jewellery with estemeed Australian fine jewellery house Atelier Swarovski.
Cruz first wore pieces from the collection at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, however the pieces were unveiled in full last week. What sets the pieces apart, well, aside from the famous hands that have helped craft them, is their creation from only responsibly-sourced materials.
Deemed as ‘conscious luxury’ the collection features Swarovski Created Diamonds (i.e. those grown in a lab) as well as Fairtrade Gold, sourced from Peru via the company’s partnership with Fairtrade. Such production ensures consumers are still given the highest quality of jewellery without the human impact.
Speaking of the collection, Cruz said in a release, “I am lucky to be in a position where I can help to shine a light on conscious luxury and create products that have a positive impact. Today, when we buy something we want to know what it is, where it comes from, how it was made, what it involves. I am proud to be working with Atelier Swarovski and responsibly-sourced Fairtrade Gold for this collection.”
