Being that sustainability is firmly on the radar in the fashion world, it would make sense to start awarding the designers who are at the forefront of the movement.
And with that, the inaugural CO10 Leadership Award happened – presented by Common Objectives, a business network for the fashion industry connecting members with each other to share knowledge and resources. The ceremony celebrated business with great products and services which provides benefits to people with the least amount of environmental impact.
A panel of experts (among them Farfetch, Kering, and Vivienne Westwood) chose 10 winners for the inaugural awards – among them were Stella McCartney and Christopher Raeburn – no surprises there tbh.
According to WWD, Harold Tillman former Chairman of the British Fashion Council said, “The industry has seen an incredible amount of traction over the past year, from increased consumer demand and government engagement, to the abundance of new entrants that focus on sustainability.”
We’re sure McCartney and Raeburn will continue to lead the way in implementing a strong (and green) footprint focus – and get us to be that much more conscious in our shopping habits too…
