Whilst the summer is slowing everything down, we’re less than two months away until the season kicks off in full speed, starting with New York Fashion Week. Set to start on September 6th, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced a change in the running format of the upcoming fashion show schedule.
Last year, NYFW would run for a good ten days and whilst that may be good for all of us fashion fanatics, it proved to be too long, and too crowded. With that being said, CFDA have listened and shortened the schedule to six days (September 6-11).
The strong September line-up will continue to highlight and celebrate American fashion with renowned names including Brandon Maxwell, Vera Wang, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, Gabriela Hearst, Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler, The Row and Jason Wu — all secured for runway appearances.
Tommy Hilfiger will stage his highly anticipated runway show in collaboration with Zendaya on September 8th, whilst Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman will be flying solo with private appointments on the final day of the schedule as Keren Craig exited the company earlier this year. And as usual, Marc Jacobs will close the New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer ’20 season.
