Since Selena Gomez came back into our lives after a social media break, she’s been at it non-stop. Most recently she surprised everyone at Coachella with a performance with Cardi B. We also know that her new music is dropping *very* soon, and of course, she’s Coach’s brand ambassador in which she’s part of the line up for its brand new podcast, Dream It Real.
And now, she can officially add designer to her CV. The singer, actress and producer, who is also an Insta-hit on the ‘Gram, has just designed a trio of swimwear pieces with Theresa Marie Mingus – a good friend and former assistant, for her line called Krahs (that’s shark spelt backwards FYI).
The main hero piece is the ‘Selena’ bikini which includes high-waisted bottoms and a bra-style top. And the design stems from a story very close to her heart. Back in 2017 Gomez had a kidney transplant and since then she’s harbored some surgical scars which she wants to cover up when on the beach.
Gomez revealed, “I’ve had a kidney transplant, and I like bathing suits that kind of cover where that’s been and make me feel comfortable.”
Check out her interview with Mingus, talking about her part in the creative process and what it was like for her…
Well, we know what swimsuit we’re aspiring to, this summer.
And we just love Gomez’s transparency. Keep it real, girl.
