Nina Ricci’s two new designers are an unexpected choice

But very, very cool
Nina Ricci is set to take on a whole new direction in the coming seasons thanks to its newest hires...
Nina Ricci named its two new Artistic Directors overnight and the hires have the industry buzzing.

The French label has enlisted Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh to run things from here on out.

The pair are anything but new to the world of fashion however, as they’re best known for their menswear brand, Botter. The pair were finalists in this year’s LVMH Prize for Young Designers, too.

WWD reports that they’re in the process of relocating from Antwerp to Paris and that they will unveil their first collection for the brand for Pre-Fall 2019 and their first show will be next March in Paris.

Speaking of the hire, José Manuel Albesa told the site, “We were looking for someone unique. They did some sketches to show their vision for the brand and I was really amazed because it was not an evolution, it was a revolution. They have this kind of Caribbean joie de vivre. It’s very appropriate for the brand, and it’s extremely appropriate for the times.” He added that they will bring “a big dose of coolness” to the label and that they plan on instilling “a new spirit, a spirit of our times, effortless yet sophisticated, strong yet positive.”
All eyes will certainly be on the pair next March, and we can’t wait to see what they deliver.
