Madewell announces launch of sustainable swimwear collection made from recycled plastic

Diving on in
Madewell is diving headfirst into sustainability with the launch of its first ever sustainable swimwear range...

US label Madewell has been in the headlines a lot in recent months, thanks to its announcements regarding size inclusivity and the launch of menswear. Now, it’s back in the news again with even better news: the brand is launching its first ever sustainable swimwear collection.

Called Second Wave, the 32 pieces in the collection are made from recycled plastic bottles. In an email to Fashionista, the brand said it used “approximately 50,920 bottles to produce the collection”, which is an average of four to eight bottles per piece.

The collection features a range of styles including one pieces, classic bikini shapes and high-waisted bottoms. Plus, there’s nothing over Dhs370 in the collection meaning you’re not only helping save the environment but your credit card bill, too.

The Second Wave collection is now available to purchase online at Madewell.com.
