Just in: Cushnie et Ochs is undergoing a huge change

Namely, losing one half of its team
Just days after their 10th anniversary show at NYFW, Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs have some major news...

During New York Fashion Week last week, Cushnie et Ochs celebrated their 10-year anniversary. Carlie Cushnie and Michelle Ochs met 11 years earlier whilst studying at Parsons and one year after meeting formed their eponymous brand.

The brand has become synonymous with sexy eveningwear that flatteringly fits the female body. The pair has long been applauded for their ability to dress women, given the fact that they too are women.

The 10th  anniversary show was a celebration of just that (and was inspired by the late Zaha Hadid‘s architectural work), but it seems celebrations have come to an abrupt end with news breaking overnight that Michelle Ochs is leaving the brand.

According to WWD, the change is immediate. Whilst both Cushnie and Ochs did not comment, a company spokeswoman told the site, “Over their decade-long partnership, Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs have created a vibrant brand, unique in its bold sensuality and minimalist sophistication. As we plan for the next decade, we are realigning our organisation with Carly at the helm of our leadership team. Michelle has played an instrumental role in the creation and growth of the brand and we wish her every success.”

What Ochs plans to do next is unknown, so too is whether or not the brand will continuing to design under the co-moniker. Watch this space.
