The Kering company bids adieu to Kanye
After days of speculation, Balenciaga has officially severed ties with the artist...

It’s been a downward spiral for Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. The artist has made it to the headlines over the past couple of weeks starting with his surprise visit at the Burberry fashion show in London. This was then followed by his opening the Balenciaga runway show in Paris to his very own more-than-controversial Yeezy show (which caused an uprise in the industry courtesy of his “White Lives Matter” T-shirt), and finally, his increasingly controversial public comments on social media including antisemitic statements.

And rumours spiralled about the future of Ye’s partnerships consisted of and it seems like Balenciaga have officially severed ties with Ye after much speculation.

We noticed that YEEZY GAP ENGINEERED BY BALENCIAGA has been removed from not just its own stores and website, but from all retailers globally, as well as Ye’s runway coverage from Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer ’23 ‘Mud Show’ in Paris.

WWD also confirmed the news moments ago: “Following the publication of its third-quarter results on Thursday, parent company Kering said the French fashion house would no longer be working on projects with the rapper formerly known as Kanye West.”
