Rei Kawakubo is, without a doubt, one of the coolest visionaries in the fashion industry. Case in point: she had an entire Met Gala themed around her. Now, the legendary designer behind Comme des Garçons has launched a new brand under the house called CDG.
Certain pieces from the logo-painted line can be purchased from today at Dover Street Market and its e-commerce platforms with the full collection available from July 20th. The full collection includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, jackets, trousers and sneakers, with the first drop called Breaking News.
The pieces feature the brand’s iconic logo in a reworked state for the new line. Cheaper than the main line, CDG taps into the streetwear and logo-mania trends that have taken over globally. The brand has worked with six artists — Adam Lucas, Anti Social Social Club, BetterGift Shop by Avi Gold, Brain Dead, Cactus Plant Flea Market and Dreamland Syndicate— to create their own interpretation of the logo.
