Chanel’s next Cruise 2020 show location is revealed

Off to Asia we go...
The collection was first showcased in Paris earlier this year and now, it's making its return to the catwalk in Hong Kong...

When Virginie Viard took over the reigns at Chanel following Karl Lagerfeld’s tragic passing, the new Artistic Director set a new track for a new era at Chanel — quite literally. When she made her solo debut at the Cruise 2020 show (held in the Grand Palais), her creations were dotted alongside a train station, proving the ultimate setting to the maison’s latest showcase.

Now, the silhouettes in motion are set to continue, as Chanel will take us on another timeless journey of the Cruise 2020 collection — this time, in Asia.

Already setting sights on the continent (Chanel’s Mademoiselle Privé exhibition is continuing its world takeover with a stop over in Tokyo), Virginie will re-imagine the show in a brand new setting at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal located in the heart of Hong Kong’s magnificent Victoria Harbour.

So, what can we expect to see? Well, as Chanel collections usually embody travelling in all its forms, we’ll see a more streamlined take on Chanel’s classic silhouettes, ’80s-inspired jewel tones and workwear-meets-athleisure looks.

This isn’t the first time Chanel stage a Cruise show in the Far East. The French luxury house took its Cruise ’19 collection to Bangkok’s Chao Phraya river for the show.

It looks like we know where the fash pack are headed to next. The Cruise 2020 show is slated to take place on November 6th, 2019. Make sure you watch this space.

Now, take a look at Chanel’s new fragrance ambassador Margot Robbie, strut the red carpet in, well, Chanel.
