After what seems like a marathon month, we have finally entered the last stretch of fashion month. From menswear shows in Milan and Paris, the fash pack stayed put in the French capital to witness an array of spectacular shows and presentations for Haute Couture. And tomorrow, they’ll be heading to Rome to witness Pierpaolo Piccioli’s latest creations for Valentino couture unfold on the runway.
The tagline for the Fall/Winter 2022-2023 show is ‘Valentino The Beginning’ hinting at paying homage to Valentino’s roots while blending into the contemporary. A personal note from the Creative Director has been released ahead of the show and he said that the show is about “a personal story, the conversation with Valentino, how much of him is in me and how much I returned. The exchange, imagined and real, around shapes, proportions, colours.”
