CELINE PRESENTS A NOSTALGIC FASHION SHOW IN LOS ANGELES

Age of Indieness
Celine continues its love affair with Los Angeles as it took its latest Winter '23 fashion show to the City of Lights...

Over the weekend, Celine staged a full fashion experience in Los Angeles revealing Hedi Slimane’s latest creations for Winter ’23 – and it was a nod to the y2k era of trends we’ve once come to know (and love).

Set in one of the city’s art deco landmarks, The Wiltern, Celine’s return to the runway since the COVID outbreak embraced the glitz and glam of Hollywood, calling for a scene with a star-studded front row. The guest list included Cindy Crawford, Paris Hilton, Brie Larson, Kid Cudi, Miles Teller, Emma Chamberlain, Wiz Khalifa, and many others, while the likes of Kaia Gerber walked the runway.

Whilst Los Angeles has long been a creative breeding ground for the Creative Director (he was based in the city during his reign at Saint Laurent), Slimane presented his ‘Age of Indieness’ collection with a backdrop featuring an enormous lit-up version of the house’s double-C ‘Triomphe’ monogram. On the runway, a smattering of 2000s-era trends echoed through the return of the original skinny jeans, thin scarves, fringed boots, low-rise belts, tote bags and undone vests or jackets.

Amongst the collection, the evening’s festivities included miniature frilled dresses, plenty of leather jackets, sliced-away denim shorts and a series of sequin gowns that were befitting of the setting.

To end the A-list evening, Celine hosted performances from Iggy Pop, The Strokes, Interpol, and The Kills. Scroll through for some of our favourite Winter ’23 looks from the collection…
