Love it or hate it, you can’t deny Demna’s creativity when it comes to transforming your everyday items into viral fashion accessories. From recently launching those controversial “destroyed” sneakers to shoelace earrings and leather trash bags (literally), Demna’s Balenciaga has become a social luxury experiment – one where your eyes will play tricks on you.
Following its Spring/Summer ’23 ‘Mud Show’ during Paris Fashion Week, Balenciaga launched another delicious mash-up. This time, its new fashion move is a bag of chips in collaboration with Lay’s.
Creating different variations of the iconic snack (the original, flamin’ hot, limón and salt & vinegar), Balenciaga’s Lay’s Potato Chip Handbags made its debut on the runway and upon close-up, the snack’s packaging comes complete in leather and lined with a simple silver zip closure.
Whilst the bags won’t be available until next summer, we’ve heard that Balenciaga’s Potato Chip Bags will reportedly cost $1,800 (approximately Dhs6,611).
