According to Variety, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the show’s creators, will write and produce a new trilogy of Star Wars films. The pair’s trilogy will reportedly not follow on from any previous Star Wars storylines, likely giving them freedom to create an epic saga all of their own.
Kathleen Kennedy, the President of Lucasfilm, said in a statement, “David and Dan are some of the best storytellers working today. Their command of complex characters, depth of story and richness of mythology will break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting.”
Now that the air date for the final season of GoT has been revealed, the pair will likely be able to start on their galaxy takeover from next year. Here’s hoping there’s a galactic version of Khaleesi in the pipeline…
