Just in: The 2018 Emmy nominees are revealed

Here's who's up for a gong this year
The nominees for the 2018 Emmy Awards have been announced. Here's who we'll be seeing at this year's ceremony...

We’re just over two months away until the 2018 Primetime Emmy Awards will take place and the nominees for this year’s ceremony have just been announced in a ceremony in Los Angeles.

As expected, The Handmaid’s Tale appears in several categories and Game of Thrones scored a whopping 22 nominations making it the most nominated program this year.

One of the most interesting categories this year is Best Actress in a Comedy. Julia Louis-Dreyfus won the category every year from 2011-2017 for her role in Veep — however filming on the final season was halted following the actress’ cancer diagnosis (she is now in the clear and filming is scheduled to go ahead next month), meaning for the first time in six years, the category is wide open for a new winner.

Meghan Markle made history last month when it was revealed that she was the first ever royal to be in consideration for an Emmy, for her role as Rachel in Suits. Unfortunately for the newest member of the British royal family, she wasn’t named in the final five in the Lead Actress in a Drama category. Instead, it’s Elisabeth Moss, Keri Russell, Evan Rachel Wood, Sandra Oh, Tatiana Maslany and Claire Foy up against one another for the title.
