Just last month, the much-awaited news of a Sex and the City reboot was announced with a teaser trailer of the show’s next chapter, titled And Just Like That.
It was revealed that the revival series will follow Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they navigate friendship in their 50s — and yes, you can expect a whole lot more fashion, friendship and laughter. But now, Parker gave the first details of information regarding the reboot.
Speaking on a virtual luncheon from New York, here are a few fun facts we gathered from Parker.
– The SATC reboot almost came in the form of a podcast, but the name “And Just Like That” stuck.
– Production hasn’t started yet, however Parker mentioned with vaccinations pending, they hope to begin production in Spring.
– The idea of the reboot was born during lockdown.
Parker has also revealed some of the topics the new series will cover and said: “It’s going to be very exciting to see where these women are and what their lives are like now. Miranda and Charlotte have teenage children, what has Carrie been doing with her time, what is it like vis-à-vis social media and the digital world, what is their life professionally, what is their life in terms of the conversations that the world is having right now. And also the rebirth of New York, as we look toward our city reopening, as it were. I think it’s going to be really interesting to see these women emerge as well.”
All we can say is that we can’t wait!
