A Son at Cinema Akil
Alserkal Avenue’s bustling hub of culture is home to Cinema Akil — an independent cinema platform that brings a series of impressive films to audiences in the Middle East. Kicking off the first week of March, Cinema Akil is set to play A Son, an intense family drama bound to keep you on the edge of your seats. Mehdi Barsaoui’s latest feature tells the story of a man whose 10-year-old child is injured during an ambush. However, his need for a blood transfusion unearths a dark family secret.

Middle East Film and Comic Con
Another edition of the Middle East Film and Comic Con is set to take place this month and if you’re looking for a place to let your inner superhero free, this is the place to be. You’ll be able to join thousands of enthusiasts for a chance to dress up and participate in the Middle East’s largest Cosplay Competition. The three-day event will feature an exciting line-up that includes meet and greets (Aladdin‘s Mena Massoud included), guest appearances, workshops, live music and competitions, as well as prize grabs worth Dhs8,000.

SIKKA Art Festival
This year’s edition of the SIKKA Art Fair is bound to be a special one as it will be celebrating its 10th year of embracing creativity in the region. Over 65 artists from across the Middle East are set to speak to the future through a visionary experience that will be translated into a piece of work as they will decorate the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood with a stunning display.

Art Dubai 2020
Art Dubai is back! Considered to be the region’s leading international art fair, Art Dubai returns this month for its 14th edition and it’s bound to be one of the biggest editions yet. Taking the discussion of art beyond just traditional art centers and galleries, this year’s fair will transform into a platform for emerging talent to be showcased alongside established artists. Expect to see contemporary art pieces and galleries from across the globe during the four-day event, as well as a series of talks, performances and special events.

Dubai World Cup
The Dubai World Cup is one of the biggest events on the social calendar. Every year the most stylish sirens flock to Meydan Racecourse in a dress code that spells out, a day at the races, and this year will mark 25 years since its inception in the Middle East. Considered to be the world’s richest day of horse racing, there will be a prize pool of $35million (approximately Dhs128,556,400).
