One scroll through Instagram during the summer months and you’re almost certain to see more than a handful of friends and famous faces soaking up the sun in Mykonos. And with Eid Al Adha right around the corner (likely bringing with it a five day weekend) there’s no better time to book your flights to the Greece island for a little R&R.
There’s no shortage of hotels and villas on offer on the island; it is, after all, entirely geared towards tourists, however there are a small few that stand out amongst the crowd as being particularly amazing. Mykonos No5 is one of them.
The stunning hotel is part of the World Hotel collection and finds its home perched a hill in the Kanalia Village, boasting views of Little Venice across the Aegean sea. It is boutique in size but there’s no shortage of luxury offered to guests during their stay, from the decor, to the pool, rooms, food, service and beyond. Here’s why we love it…
Sleep
If a key part of your holiday revolves around spending time in your room and catching several relaxing nights of proper deep sleep, then you’ll be thrilled with your stay at Mykonos No5. The hotel offers eight different room categories but no matter which type you choose, you’ll have beautiful views of the Aegean Sea. A selection of the rooms come with their own private pools and terraces and each room is equipped with a SONOS sound system and its own WiFi. Plus, there’s a pillow menu to help ensure you have an excellent night’s sleep and Molton Brown amenities.
The rooms are outfitted with bright whites and homely neutrals and greys for the most relaxing vibe — you’ll be snapping #inspo pics at just about every turn both inside and out of your room.

Eat
The hotel has its own restaurant which is both ideally situated (it boasts uninterrupted views of the Aegean Sea) and stunningly decorated (one swipe through the hashtag on Instagram and you’ll see exactly what we mean — it’s #decorgoals all the way). Furthermore, it offers up an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast, you can have eggs, traditional Greek yoghurt, fresh fruit, pancakes (which are seriously good just FYI) and more, and for lunch or dinner you can opt from a selection of mouthwatering dishes including gyros, pasta, pizza, seafood and salads. If you find yourself poolside (which of course you should at one point or another during your stay) we recommend treating yourself to one of the restaurant’s signature smoothies or milkshakes — fair warning though, once you have the chocolate cookie shake, you’ll want another (three).
See
The hotel feels relaxingly remote but take a 15 minute drive and you’ll find yourself in the centre of Mykonos. Fancy heading to the famed Scorpios or Nammos beach clubs? You’ll be in a car for no longer than 20 minutes to get there. You can rent your own car or an ATV, or opt for a transfer. Just don’t rely on taxis to get your around as there’s only 30 on the whole island and they’re priced steeply as a result.
Mykonos No5 prides itself on helping guests organise as much or as little of their holiday on the island. Case in point: there’s no reception desk but rather a coordination desk where the hotel’s super helpful staff are on call to help take your experience to the next level. Want to make a dinner reservation? Or perhaps book a private car? How about a helicopter tour? They’ve got your back.
Plus, if water activities are your thing, there’s a dedicated kite surfing school just three minutes (by car) around the corner from the hotel for you to flex your skills.
Relax
A key aspect of the hotel’s offering is the stimulation of senses — from the scent of the fresh air to the feel of the decor, sound of the ocean, taste of the food and the unbeatable view. One of the best places to take in all of those things is by the pool. Located adjacent to the restaurant, the pool offers visitors the choice of individual sun loungers or spacious sunbeds, facing out towards the sea. And if you’re phone is on low battery from all of those pictures you’ve been snapping, you’ll find solar powered USB ports on the umbrellas to ensure you never miss a moment. And if you like to find peace by working out on your vacation, the hotel has its own gym so you can get in a quick sweat session between suncatching hours.
