Recently, our social feeds have been flooded with videos of what appears to be the Maldives, only for it to be revealed as the Red Sea Saudi Arabia. After scrolling through a slew of enviably stunning videos of the turquoise waters of the Red Sea Saudi Arabia, we decided to do a deep dive into what is evidently the upcoming tourism hotspot.
Backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia and chaired by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Red Sea Global is at the forefront of transforming Saudi Arabia’s west coast into a premier travel destination. The Red Sea Saudi Arabia is not just another resort complex; it is a pioneering endeavor that sets new standards in luxury and sustainability. The first resort welcomed guests in 2023, marking the beginning of an ambitious plan to open 16 resorts by 2025 and complete 50 resorts by 2030.
A NATURAL PARADISE
Encompassing over 28,000 square kilometers, the Red Sea Saudi Arabia is a vast expanse of natural wonders. This breathtaking destination features more than 90 untouched islands, pristine beaches, dormant volcanoes, sweeping desert dunes, and majestic mountain canyons. The region is also home to the world’s fourth-largest barrier reef system, offering a sanctuary for marine life and a paradise for divers and nature enthusiasts.
The Red Sea’s diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage provide a unique backdrop for luxury experiences. Guests can explore ancient historical sites, enjoy world-class amenities, and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of one of the world’s last hidden treasures.
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
Red Sea Global’s master plan for the Red Sea Project is a testament to their commitment to environmental preservation. In collaboration with Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo and Buro Happold, extensive environmental studies and the largest marine spatial planning simulation ever conducted were carried out. As a result, less than one percent of the total site area is being developed, with 75 percent of the destination’s islands designated for conservation.
The goal is to achieve a 30 percent net positive conservation benefit by 2040. This ambitious target will be reached by enhancing critical habitats and promoting biodiversity. Such efforts ensure that the Red Sea Saudi Arabia remains a thriving natural habitat for future generations to enjoy.
EXCLUSIVE EXPERIENCES AWAIT
The Red Sea Project promises unparalleled luxury, with exclusive resorts like the St. Regis Red Sea Resort and Nujuma, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve, located on the pristine island of Ummahat. These resorts offer guests an immersive experience in unexplored crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and thriving coral reefs. The blend of high-end luxury and the stunning natural environment creates a unique, unforgettable escape.
THE FUTURE OF LUXURY TOURISM
Situated 500 kilometers north of Jeddah, between the towns of AlWajh and Umluj, the Red Sea Saudi Arabia is easily accessible from around the globe. The dedicated Red Sea International Airport ensures seamless travel for international visitors. Positioned at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa, the destination is just a three-hour flight away for 250 million people, making it a convenient and attractive getaway.
By prioritizing sustainability and luxury, Red Sea Global is setting a new benchmark for the industry. This project is not only enhancing Saudi Arabia’s tourism offerings but also creating significant economic opportunities and preserving the kingdom’s rich environmental and cultural heritage.
As the Red Sea Project continues to unfold, it invites the world to discover Saudi Arabia’s serene west coast. This ambitious endeavor promises incredible adventures, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and a new era of luxury tourism that harmoniously blends with nature.Â
