Instagram is constantly upgrading its app to ensure the best possible user interaction and its latest updates are seriously exciting.
Earlier this year, the company introduced enhanced in-app shopping features and now, it’s taking the capabilities one step further. If you’re spending increasing amounts of time on Stories (#guilty) to stay up-to-date with the latest happenings from your favourite brands, then you’ll be pleased to know that Instagram has now officially launched shopping in Stories globally. Now, when you’re scrolling through your favourite brand’s stories, you can click on an item of clothing to get more information about it. If you decide you want it, you can click through directly to the brand’s website to finish the transaction.
Speaking of the new function, Instagram wrote in a press release, “With one-third of the most-viewed stories coming from businesses, we’re excited to see how Shopping in Stories enables brands to tell an even deeper story about what’s behind their products.”
The app is also introducing Shopping within the Explore channel that will be tailored to your own personal interests. The feature will be unveiled in select countries from today with a global roll-out planned for the coming weeks. But what does it mean exactly? Much like how the Explore plage suggests pages or posts you might like based on your interaction with the app, from now on you’ll also see a shopping channel which features brand you follow as well as the ones the app thinks you might like bringing fashion to your fingertips like never before.
