Following the announcement of the Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, the eighth-generation iPad and all-new iPad Air, many were left wondering if there would be a new iPhone release and how its performance could possibly beat the iPhone 11 Pro.
Well, overnight, Apple announced a new generation of the iPhone and whilst there are four new models to choose from, it comes with an even more impressive experience.
iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini
Ushering a new era of smartphones, Apple introduced the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini — complete with 5G technology, edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR displays for a brighter, more immersive viewing experience, and a new Ceramic Shield front cover, providing the biggest jump in durability ever on iPhone. The iPhone 12 mini is also the smallest, thinnest, and lightest 5G smartphone in the world.
Complete with Apple’s most immersive display yet, the durable design is water resistance up to 6 meters for up to 30 minutes, and can protect against everyday spills, including coffee and soda. And when it comes to the newly advanced dual camera system, you can expect to capture the perfect photograph or video.
iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will be available in five beautiful aluminum finishes, including blue, green, black, white, and (PRODUCT)RED.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models you’ll be able to pre-order iPhone 12 on October 16, with availability beginning on October 23; the iPhone 12 mini will be available for pre-order beginning November 6, with availability beginning Friday, November 13.
iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
Pushing the boundaries for innovation even further, Apple have introduced the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, complete with a powerful 5G experience and advanced technologies.
The new iPhone comes with a versatile pro camera system, made with state-of-the-art camera hardware powered by A14 Bionic, for all levels of photo and video enthusiasts. It includes new Wide cameras for even better low-light performance, an expansive Ultra Wide camera, and a Telephoto camera for capturing stunning images and video.
Taking the experience even further, an all-new LiDAR Scanner will be available on the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, offering the ability to measure light distance and use pixel depth information of a scene. This technology delivers faster, more realistic AR experiences and improves autofocus.

The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available in graphite, silver, gold, and pacific blue. Similar to the iPhone 12, the new iPhone 12 Pro will be available for pre-order on October 16 with availability beginning October 23, whilst pre-order for iPhone 12 Pro Max will begin from November 6, with availability beginning November 13.
With the launch of the new iPhone Pro models, each iPhone utilizes 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in all magnets, including the new camera, Taptic Engine, and MagSafe, as well as Apple’s MagSafe accessories, marking the first time ever.
Also, with every purchase you’re used to seeing a power adaptor and EarPods from the iPhone packaging. However now, Apple will be removing them to further reduce carbon emissions and avoid the mining and use of precious materials, which enables smaller and lighter packaging. This allows for 70 percent more boxes to be shipped on a pallet.
