Alain Chevalier, Co-Founder of LVMH, has died aged 87

A visionary man
The fashion industry is mourning a huge loss as the much-loved Co-Founder of LVMH passes away...

Sadly, news has emerged overnight that Alain Chevalier passed away at his home last Thursday, at the age of 87.

In 1987, the Algerian-born businessman took on the role of CEO at Moët Hennessy. Henri Racamier was President of Louis Vuitton at the time and Bernard Arnault mediated the merger between the two companies to create LVMH.

Today, LVMH is one of the biggest luxury conglomerates in the world and owns several luxury labels including Givenchy, Guerlain, Sephora, Fendi, Celine, Chaumet, Emilio Pucci and even Loro Piana (which is opening a new store in the Middle East and is celebrating with this regional installation).

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
