Zaha Hadid was undoubtedly a revolutionary architect whose impeccable eye for design and detail can be seen around the world including London, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Rome. Now, it looks like there’s yet another stunning structure that has been added to Hadid’s string of accomplishments.
Envisioned by the late architect herself, Zaha Hadid Architects‘ Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) has opened its doors to the public — and trust us when we say it’s grand.
Located south of Beijing’s city centre, the new airport (which resembles a sprawling starfish) is considered the largest terminal building in the world at 7.5 million square feet.
The five concourses are beautifully connected with curved white walls, polished floors, radial skylights and just slick interiors overall. Take a look below…

The PKX airport took less than five years to be built, and it was in order to relieve some of the traffic from the already jam-packed Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). The first flight actually took place yesterday, and the commercial flight took off for Guangzhou.
The building alone is enough of a reason to head to China…
