Tag Heuer X Porsche: Finally, a partnership we’re excited about

This might just be the biggest partnership between a car manufacturer and a watch brand...

Tag Heuer is currently moving in full speed following the announcement that the luxury watchmaker has entered a long-term partnership with Porsche. Together, the duo has worked on an all-new Tag Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph to celebrate their union, but this new alliance between the two brands will also extend from product development to competitive racing.

Both brands share a long-standing history — first and foremost, they do share “Carrera” as a name in their line-ups — and have in common their ground-breaking innovation, cutting-edge technologies and independent mindset,

“The strong friendship of our brand with TAG Heuer exists since decades and I am more than happy that we are now taking the next steps in the frame of a strategic partnership,” says Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. “We bring together what our customers love the most about both of us: authentic heritage, thrilling sports events, unique life experiences and the fulfilment of dreams. We both strive to create some unique, magic moments for our communities. We now look forward to doing it together.”

To celebrate the partnership, Tag Heuer and Porsche launch a new timepiece — a natural choice for the collaboration’s debut — and it pays tribute to the heritage of the two legendary brands.

Without overdoing the branding, the timepiece features Porsche’s engraved inscription on the bezel whilst the dial comes with an asphalt effect, created especially for the watch. Complete with Arabic numerals, the timepiece features the Porsche colours of red, black, and grey, and on clear display through the transparent case back is the oscillating mass (designed to pay tribute to Porsche’s celebrated steering wheel).

As the timepiece falls under a special edition watch, the Tag Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph is delivered in bespoke packaging with a black box featuring the brand’s logos and a perfectly sized black travel pouch with an unmistakably Porsche red interior.

We’ll just have to wait and see what else the collaboration has in store for us.
