Christie’s has launched a milestone auction event for the region offering its largest selection of coveted timepieces ever in the Middle East. Titled Watches Online: Dubai Edit, the auction will feature approximately 200 lots estimated to bring in $9 million to $15 million
Close to 200 lots estimated at USD 9 million (roughly Dhs33 million) to $15 million (Dhs55 million) and is open for bidding online up until April 9, 2021.
Inaugurating an exceptional year ahead for Christie’s in the watch universe, some of the watches included some of the most in-demand references of today including rare pieces from Patek Philippe, a selection of highly valuable Rolex watches, and prestigious timepieces from independent watchmakers.
“Watches Online: Dubai Edit is without precedent in the Middle East,” said Remy Julia, Chief Watch Specialist at Christie’s Dubai. “This auction event is the perfect barometer for current collector demand, be it in the contemporary or the vintage watch space. It brings together into one place exceptional exemplars of watchmaking, in sync with the spirit and passion of the truly discerning collectors in the Middle East.”
Also on offer is an exotic set of six medium-sized Audemars Piguet Royal Oak jewellery watches and a unique white gold, diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald-set brooch indicating three time zones – London, Mecca, and Brunei.
These watches will all be on view at Christie’s Dubai DIFC Gate Village 5, Podium Level, until April 8, 2021, by appointment only.
