Elie Saab has aced the sartorial game with his red carpet-worthy gowns and impeccable craftsmanship, however it looks like the Lebanese designer is looking to venture into a whole new category.
As part of the eponymous label’s strategy to expand beyond coveted evening dresses, Elie Saab is set to enter the fine watches division following a global licensing agreement with Blackbox Global Luxury Group (GLG), a leading luxury group that specializes in the manufacture and distribution of exclusive designer and contemporary brands.
What we do know about the debut line of timepieces is that it will consist of 28 women’s pieces, studded and eye-shaped. According to Business of Fashion: “The launch of Elie Saab Timepieces marks an exciting new chapter, where together we will bring the brand to women around the world, both life-long customers of the house and a new following,” Blackbox GLG founder and chief executive Rico Pross said. “We are confident this shared vision will be a successful partnership for years to come.”
If Elie Saab’s watches are going be as exquisite as his collections, then we can’t wait to see the timepieces up close.
