Cartier introduces new Santos de Cartier at SIHH 2018

The brand has predicted it will sell well in the Middle East
Cartier is unveiling its newest novelties at SIHH this week and Buro 24/7 Middle East was there to witness the latest designs. Here's what you need to know...

The excitement of SIHH 2018 continues as some of the world’s top watchmaking brands continue to unveil their latest novelties to the industry across the four-day event. Now in its third day, there has been plenty to see at the fair, including Cartier‘s latest designs.

Although the brand introduced several exciting new designs, the most important is undoubtedly the new Santos de Cartier. Of the piece the brand said in its presentation that “there is a love story in the Middle East with the Santos.” The new piece has three fundamental design attributes: elegance, ergonomics and functionality and also features a new shape on the bezel. The proportions of the watch are thinner than previous versions, however, most excitingly it features a brand new QuickSwitch function that allows you to switch from a metal bracelet to a leather with just one click.

Additionally, the metal bracelets can be self-sized thanks to a new design detail (called SmartLink) whereby small ovals on the side of the strap can be pressed and removed to allow customers to customise their own fit. Plus, the new automatic Santos de Cartier will be sold with both the metal and leather bracelets, of which there are 17 colour options available.
