The return of tie dye

Banana bread has a new friend

Whether or not you choose to believe that COVID-19 has the same PR as banana bread and tie dye, their recent omnipresence is undeniable. Who knows, perhaps WHO is merely a few social media posts away from citing the surplus creation of both as a new indication of a global pandemic.

While banana bread will always be eaten no matter how much it’s raved about, tie dye is an acquired taste. It is, to put it bluntly, a summer trend for attention-seekers. But since we all emerge from the womb literally screaming for attention, who can blame anyone for wanting to do so in something resembling sartorial sunshine.

As Sofia Prantera, co-founder of Aries, says “sometimes it comes out looking amazing and sometimes it just looks like shit. It’s a hard thing to control.”
