Here at Buro HQ, there’s nothing we love more than discovering new collections by Middle Eastern designers. Especially if it’s at Haute Couture Fashion Week. So far, we’ve seen Georges Hobeika, Georges Chakra, Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad deliver beautiful couture creations for Fall/Winter ’18 and now, another Syrian designer has showcased his seasonal range in a presentation format.
Rami Al Ali took over the Hôtel Le Meurice and delivered a 13-piece collection that translates some of the designer’s signature codes (think luxury, feminine and sophisticated), all whilst merging Ali’s inspiration of art deco.
With a combination of rich fabrics such as tulle and velvet, the collection features red carpet-worthy gowns that came in really feminine and figure-flattering silhouettes, with an even more romantic colour palette. Contrasting hues of rose, green, gold and a soft seashell was a bold cobalt blue, the gowns were exquisitely made with hand-crafted embellishments, beautiful beading and intricate detailing.
