Everything you need to know about the upcoming Barbie: The World Tour book.

Last year, Greta Gerwig and Mattel triumphantly painted the world pink with their genius marketing efforts in the months leading up to Barbie‘s release. While Mattel, on one hand, released countless Barbie pink-powered products across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, Margot Robbie, on the other, brought the doll to life with her Barbie-inspired press tour wardrobe. Styled by Andrew Mukamal, Robbie’s press tour looks, recreating vintage Barbie outfits, were so iconic that they have etched a place on both the cultural and fashion zeitgeist.

But did you know that there are more unseen looks that never made it to the pink carpet? It turns out Robbie and Mukamal dreamed up numerous Mattel-doll-inspired looks that remained in the shadows as the press tour was cut short by the writer’s and actors’ strikes.

These never-seen-before looks and more will be released as a part of a new book, Barbie: The World Tour, set to be released by Rizzoli on March 8, 2024.

Mukamal took to Instagram to announce the launch of the book. His post read, “This book was an idea I had in my living room when I started dreaming about Margot’s wardrobe for the Barbie press tour in March 2023. I could have never imagined that we’d be in the studio shooting this project just a few months later with the team of our dreams.”

Robbie and Mukamal will also provide their own written contributions to the book.

Expressing his gratitude, Mukamal further added, “Thank you, Margot, for bringing me on this wild ride and being the most incredible and trusting partner. Every second of the process, every conversation, every fitting, and every quick outfit change was an absolute joy. None of this would have been possible without your unwavering faith and confidence in me and my vision for what I knew would be a project that would change my life.”

“This book is a labor of love dedicated to all Barbie lovers and fashion fans around the world.”
