Less than a month ago, Dolce & Gabbana held the most extravagant runway show in New York City and it was dominated by over-the-top aesthetic, beautiful ensembles and glamorous accessories. And as the collection show was on a whole other level, it was the way the dynamic duo behind the Italian label presented their collections to the Big Apple that had the world talking.
Now, just a few weeks later, fellow Italian powerhouse, Miuccia Prada took the fash pack across the globe to the city to witness the unveiling of its Resort ’19 collection for Prada.
With live runway shots on multiple screens in Times Square (to mark the celebration of the show’s overseas location), Prada’s Resort ’19 collection perfectly mirrored the city’s bustling energy with ensembled that carried a strong ’90s vibe.
There were 49 total looks that consisted of hip-slung miniskirts, tank tops layered over mocknecks, long, straight skirts, suede trenchcoats, oversized leathers and small trim details lit up in a neon colour palette. Plus, there were a lot of different prints, mix-matched jacquard and monochrome pairings.
