Prada Group is the first luxury fashion group to do this

Prada has officially committed to The Valuable 500, making it the first luxury group to ever do so...

The fashion industry continues its efforts in embracing sustainability and diversity in its future agendas, but the Prada Group is just one step further following their latest move.

The Italian fashion house has joined The Valuable 500 — a global community dedicated to transform the business in order to benefit those people with disabilities — and it’s the first luxury fashion group to do so. Recognising the importance and value of including those with disabilities, the company is currently exploring different opportunities and will start with a commitment to hire individuals affected by trisomy 21 (Down’s syndrome) into its network.

Speaking of the Prada Group’s latest commitment, Lorenzo Bertelli (the Group’s Head of CSR), said: “The Valuable 500 community, which embraces a wide range of industries worldwide, is becoming stronger every day. I actively support the decision to join the coalition as I believe strongly in the value of diversity.” He added: “The different backgrounds of the companies adhering to the alliance is a crucial starting point to build a comprehensive global action plan, which will enrich all of us”.

We’re certain other brands will follow Prada’s footsteps and together, change the way society thinks about disability.
