Karl Lagerfeld’s famous friends are coming together for a special tribute project

“A Tribute to Karl: The White Shirt Project”
A slew of celebrity names are continuing to pay homage to the late, great Karl Lagerfeld this September...

Fendi was the latest fashion house to pay tribute to the eternal memory of Karl Lagerfeld and it looks like, the tributes are still flooding in.

During Paris Fashion Week in September (a memorial for the late designer was held during the most recent season of Paris Fashion Week), a host of famous friends of King Karl, will come together to unveil their own interpretations of Lagerfeld’s famous white shirt — a piece of clothing the designer had always wished he invented, according to WWD.

“If you ask me what I’d most like to have invented in fashion, I’d say the white shirt. For me, the white shirt is the basis of everything. Everything else comes after,” he once said.

Celebrities including Cara Delevingne, Diane Kruger, Kate Moss, Amber Valletta, Lewis Hamilton, Tommy Hilfiger, Alessandro Michele, Carine Roitfeld and many more, will unveil their designs as part of the “A Tribute to Karl: The White Shirt Project.”

All the designed shirts will be displayed at Karl Lagerfeld’s headquarters on the Rue Saint-Guillaume.

To further honour the great designer, seven designs will be replicated 77 times and sold for 777 euros each (approximately Dhs3,200) on Karl.com, with all proceeds donated to Sauver la Vie — it is reported that seven was Lagerfeld’s favutrite number, his favourite arrondissement of Paris and the address of of his bookshop on the Rue de Lille.
