Next March, Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) will host its inaugural prize ceremony in the Middle East to crown the winner for the 2019 edition. There’s been plenty of hype surrounding the event since it was first announced by Buro. Middle East in October. Helmed by Tania Fares (the Founder of the OG Fashion Trust in London), the FTA is bringing together some of the biggest names in the industry to help mentor the talents of tomorrow here in the Middle East.
In October we revealed the first seven judges and now we can exclusively name the next 12 figures to join the impressive line-up. Joining Pierpaolo Picciolo, Olivier Rousteing, Zuhair Murad, Haider Ackermann, Natalia Vodianova, Sara Sozzani Maino and Ruth Chapman are Chopard‘s Caroline Scheufele, Carla Bruni, Moncler Chairman Remo Ruffini, journalist Sarah Mower, Net-a-Porter Founder Natalie Massenet, Farida Khelfa, Aquazzura‘s Edgardo Osorio, Diane von Furstenberg, InStyle US editor Laura Brown, Erdem Moralioglu, Imaan Hammam and businessman Giancarlo Giammetti.
The 19 judges will choose one winner from each category — womenswear ready-to-wear, evening, accessories and jewellery — who will then be given access to the FTA’s roster of mentors, including Matchesfashion.com.
Speaking exclusively about the prize to Buro. Middle East, Tania explained, “It’s to give an opportunity to young Arab talent that could benefit from financial support and exposure and to show the community that we’re bringing to the Middle East in March the talent that we have and to give them an opportunity to show the world how talented the Arab world is.”
Applications for the inaugural prize close in January 2019. For more information or to apply, visit Fashiontrustarabiaprize.com.
