When we think Louis Vuitton and red carpet, we automatically think Emma Stone. The stunning actress has long been a friend of the house (as well as a campaign model), and her latest outing was particularly impactful. At Sunday’s Oscars ceremony, The Favourite actress wore a custom bronze gown by Nicolas Ghesquière that elegantly skimmed her frame with large statement shoulders.
The piece was embroidered using pearls, sequins and beads and was no small feat to produce. Speaking with People magazine about the dress, the house explained, “The embroidery took 712 hours, plus 22 hours to adjust it after shrinkage.” The structural shape of the dress added to the labour. “It was quite difficult because the design was geometrical and we had to reduce and increase the element dimensions without changing their total number.”
Well, all that manpower was certainly worth it. This is one for the history books.
