Chanel’s J12 watch campaign features a very starry line up

Literally all the hottest women right now
Chanel has lined up 10 celebrities for its new J12 watch campaign...

Chanel has called upon a roster of A-game celebrities for its J12 watch campaign. From Lily-Rose Depp to Keira Knightley to Claudia Schiffer, the luxury French house cast a wide net for its celeb frontings.

In a very clean composition, each celebrity is shot in black-and-white portraits by fashion photographer Brigitte Lacombe

According to WWD, Schiffer said in a video of the campaign, “A watch is to tell the time, but it’s also an expression of what you like – a fashion expression, so who you are.” While MacGraw said, “I had this major moment like anyone my age did in the Sixties and the Seventies when music was extraordinary – suddenly we were able to live with optimism and freedom – we could do whatever we wanted to!”

You’ll notice that the casting features women of ages far and wide, and this was a conscious decision to depict different degrees of life experiences. Thomas du Pré de Saint-Maur, Head of Creative Resources at Chanel said, “They’re not the same. The idea is that by taking a certain number of experiences from different ages, different cultures, different life paths, the one thing that links them is a history with Chanel.”

As far as J12’s design goes, Artistic Director Arnaud Chastaingt said that he “changed everything without changing anything.” A classic never dies, after all.

Next up on Chanel’s agenda is the Cruise 2020 show this May in Paris.
