It’s been well over 20 years since Sex and the City entered our lives but it still remains one of our favourite cultural comforts to this day. And every time we get a bit of Carrie Bradshaw back – like in the recent Fendi Baguette bag campaign, it makes us just a little bit *overly* excited.
So news has come through that the iconic Carrie necklace, sported by the character throughout the series, has had an update. The show’s Costume Designer Patricia Field has added hearts and curves to the original name plate, touting it Carrie 2.0. In a statement, Field noted that the Carrie necklace has been a staple of her brand “for many years” and the new version is “a modern-day twist”.
And in keeping with contemporary moves, the campaign is fronted by Caroline Vazzana, a fashion blogger and author of Making It in Manhattan who was inspired by the show when she decided to become a writer. According to WWD, the blogger-author said, “It was a true dream come true collaborating with [Field] and her team. Between the ‘SATC’ nods and splashes of colour from my wardrobe, it made for the perfect modern-day Carrie Bradshaw moment.”
