Every year, starting from 2004, H&M has blessed our wardrobes with one or two designer collaborations. Inaugurated by none other than the legendary Karl Lagerfeld, H&M’s roster of esteemed designer names includes the likes of Rei Kawakubo, Alber Elbaz, Stella McCartney, and Donatella Versace, among others. Now, H&M is expanding its collaborative portfolio with a freshly-announced partnership with Rabanne.
Earlier this week, H&M and Rabanne threw a surprise party at the Silencio Club in Paris to celebrate their forthcoming collection. The metaphorically and quite literally Rabanne-clad glittering guest list saw the likes of Cher, Irina Shayk, Salma Abu Deif, Elle Fanning, Ashley Graham, Amina Muaddi, Tyga, Jared Leto, Alton Mason, and other famous faces gather at the iconic venue, where Swedish singer Robyn, Peggy Gou, and Cher made the crowd groove to their tunes.
Designed by Julien Dossena, the H&M x Rabanne collection will range across womenswear, menswear, accessories, and home. Along with Rabanne’s shimmering metallic signatures, shoppers will find a floor-length tiered chiffon gown embellished with crystals, a crisp poplin button-up with broderie anglaise detailing and oversized pleated sleeves, a floral jacquard cutout dress, plush woolen outerwear, jersey knit separates and leopard prints, lots of leopard prints.
“As a designer, I’ve always been interested in exploring hedonism and empowerment. I was very enthusiastic to work with H&M on a collection that will introduce Rabanne’s avant-garde energy to a wider audience in a democratic way,” said Dossena.
“Rabanne’s metallic dresses are instantly recognizable pieces of fashion history. We’re thrilled to bring a dazzling array of Rabanne designs to our customers with this sensational collaboration,” explains Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design Womenswear and Creative Advisor at H&M.
The H&M x Rabanne collection will launch in selected stores and online on November 9, 2023.
