Five minutes with: BLSSD Founder and Creative Director Lama Riachi

During Arab Fashion Week
The 2018 edition of Arab Fashion Week took place last week and there was one new face that caught our eye...

Despite the rain and wild weather that last week brought with it, the 2018 edition of Arab Fashion Week still served up plenty of style across the week-long showcase. Local heavyweight designers including Furne One and Michael Cinco were on the schedule, alongside new rising talent — like Lama Riachi of BLSSD.

A cancer survivor, Lama began BLSSD as a way to channel gratitude through her pieces and give others the opportunity to share in the feeling. The resulting collection is a cool mix of streetwear meets sophisticated separates with pleated metallic skirts paired effortlessly with scuba-esque tops or shift dresses finished with a geometric cut-out at the back to reveal the brand’s logo beneath.

We stole five minutes of Lama’s time once the show had wrapped to find about more about her design process and what we can expect next from the brand. See what she had to say below…
