Coach to stop using fur in future collections

More good news from a major fashion player
Coach just made a major announcement regarding its use of fur...

Following in the footsteps of fellow American brand DVF’s decision to ban fur in all of its forthcoming collections earlier this month, Coach has opted to go fur-free moving forward, too.

The decision to phase out fur in all of its future collections will be in full effect starting with its Fall 2019 collection.

Speaking of the new direction for the brand, President and CEO of Coach, Joshua Schulman, said, “Coach has been committed to advancing sustainable practices for many years, with the introduction of our corporate responsibility goals in 2015. Back then, we laid the groundwork for prioritising social and environmental initiatives. The decision to go fur-free is a truly meaningful milestone for the brand. What really excites me most is building a business that balances true fashion authority while also driving positive change — both within the company and in the greater community. We create magic when we do both simultaneously.”

The announcement is the latest in a slew of pro-animal movements within the industry. London Fashion Week S/S ’19 was entirely fur-free, and Burberry also recently announced it would stop using fur in its collections also.
