When Virginie Viard took over the reigns at Chanel following Karl Lagerfeld’s tragic passing, the new Artistic Director set a new track for a new era at Chanel — quite literally. When she made her solo debut at the Cruise 2020 show (held in the Grand Palais), her creations were dotted alongside a train station, proving the ultimate setting to the maison’s latest showcase.
Viard has strongly implemented her vision for the maison and she’s continuing to make her mark with her latest move.
For Chanel’s Cruise 2021 show, Viard will be bringing the fash pack to Capri in Italy (a place very inspiring to the designer) to deliver another statement-worthy collection.
Whilst this will mark Viard’s second Cruise collection for the fashion house, the Cruise 2021 show will mark the first time Chanel has presented a Cruise show outside of Paris since 2016.
The Cruise 2021 show will take place on May 7 next year. Whilst no further details have been revealed, make sure to watch this space.
