If the name Carolina Castiglioni sounds familiar, it’s likely because of her surname. The Castiglioni family are the family behind luxury Italian cool-girl label Marni. Carolina’s mother, Consuelo Castiglioni, founded the label and worked as its chief designer before officially parting ways with the brand in 2016. Carolina worked alongside her mother at the label as the Director of Special Projects and has been widely credited with opening the label up to a wider audience.
Now, Carolina is heading back into the world of fashion with her own line. According to WWD, the line is called Plan C and will debut for S/S ’19. It will present two collections a year and include ready-to-wear and accessories all of which will be made in Italy and sold at its headquarters in Milan.
There’s no word yet on what we can expect from the design — will it embody the same quirky spirit of Marni or perhaps take a more minimal approach? Watch this space.
