Last month, Beyoncé and Jay-Z did what they do best — dropped a surprise album and an accompanying film clip in one night. Called Everything Is Love, the first single from the album to be released was accompanied by a film clip that was shot inside Paris’ iconic Musée de Louvre.
After privately hiring the museum to shoot the clip, Bey and Jay-z are seen singing and dancing amidst many of the museum’s most famous pieces including the Mona Lisa. The video made waves around the world — because the Carters may just be the only people capable of shooting in the Louvre — and the museum has decided to capitalise on the increased interest in its pieces by launching a 90-minute tour that includes each of the 17 artworks and sculptures featured in the clip. Beginning at the Winged Victory of Samothrace, it has stops at The Wedding Feast at Cana, The Coronation of Napoleon and Venus de Milo before ending at the Portrait of a Black Woman by Marie-Guillemine Benoist.
Running every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, the tour is now available to all visitors.
