Since getting married in May, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been very busy attending official events. The pair is just days away from going on a royal tour of Ireland, however they managed to it in one more event before departing, attending the Commonwealth Youth Challenge in London overnight.
Their appearance was no surprise, given that they are both official Commonwealth Youth Ambassadors. After watching a short musical performance, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex entered Marlborough House where Prince Harry addressed the crowd saying, “Amongst all of you are innovators, entrepreneurs, and educators – ready to tackle climate change, social injustice and inequality. Together you will take on these big challenges – and be champions for your communities, for your families, your countries, and our Commonwealth. Meghan and I are incredibly excited to meet so many of you representing the future of the Commonwealth. Later this year we will embark on a tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga. This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to meet and hear from more young people about their ideas for creating a better future. We can’t wait to see you in action in your home countries and learn about what you’re doing to better the Commonwealth, and the world, in 2040 and beyond.”
And although she has favoured neutral tones since marrying into the British royal family, Meghan broke that streak for this event, donning a bright yellow sheath dress from American designer Brandon Maxwell. The designer is also Lady Gaga’s full-time stylist.
She paired the bright piece with neutral heels and a sleek low, middle-parted bun.
Now, find out where the pair will make their next appearance following their return from Ireland next week.
