Cardi B may rule the music charts but she’s taking her talents to Hollywood right now. It’s been announced that she and a fleet of music/film heavyweights including J.Lo (a long-time stage and screen star) and Constance Wu (star of the super successful Crazy Rich Asians) are going to star in a new feature film titled Hustlers – a kind of revenge tale about strip-club employees who join forces against the Wall Street guys who are their clients. So juicy.
According to Deadline, the film, which was inspired by a 2016 New York Magazine article, is a first for the hip-hop star – but considering her background, this is a very fitting role.
The film will be directed by writer-director Lorene Scafaria who commented on the upcoming project, “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic group of women. We’re grateful to have assembled such a powerhouse cast and can’t wait to start filming at the end of the week.”
Cardi B hasn’t commented on this new venture for her but we’re sure she’s busy getting into character…
Hustlers will begin shooting in New York City on Friday. Something tells us this might just land them some Oscar buzz. It’s never too early…
